Singapore Children's Society has been actively working to promote the welfare of children since 1952. We pride ourselves in our mission to bring relief and happiness to children-in-need and in February 2009, we launch our 1000 Enterprises for Children-in-Need initiative to encourage corporate companies to join hands with us and works towards lighting up the lives of another child-in-need.
For many years, philanthropic activities are considered to be detached from business goals. Doing good and doing well viewed as separate pursuits. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is growing to be a formidable and benevolent force. Business must make social sense and Social Service must make business sense.
Here are three easy steps to take to establish your own CSR or Community Give Back Programme:
To start this CSR programme rolling, we need corporate companies to make a committment to join our 1000 Enterprises for Children-in-Need fund raising initiative.
As a start, we would like participating companies to consider committing a donation to Singapore Children's Society. These can range accordingly;
$1,000 - $9,999 per year. To be recognized as a Participant of this project.
$10,000 - $29,999 per year. To be recognized as a Leading Enterprise of this project.
If you are doing this alone, then we would encourage you to form a working committee to help you in your attempt. More hands on deck will make the load lighter.
In this we would encourage companies and working committees not to be overly ambitious and try to embark onto a massive CSR initiative on its first try. Try to identify small and manageable projects at the start, preferably a one-day event or so.
We will work with the CSR Working Committee to identify their CSR project to help Children's Society. This will be decided based on the company's strength and corporate objective.
